A portfolio is a named container for positions, bound to one or more wallets you control. You need one before you can supply or borrow.

Steps

  1. Go to Account → Portfolios and choose to add a portfolio.
  2. Name it. The name is for your own reference: a mandate, strategy, or desk name is more useful than “Portfolio 1”.
  3. Connect a wallet. Choose your provider from the list. Supported connections include browser wallets, WalletConnect-compatible wallets, Coinbase Wallet, and institutional custody providers.
  4. Sign the ownership message. Your wallet will present a message to sign. This proves you control the address.
  5. The portfolio becomes available once the signature is verified.

What the signature is

The message you sign is a proof of address ownership. It is not a transaction, it moves nothing, and it grants no spending permission. The message includes a challenge value issued by AGI3, the address being bound, this site’s domain, and a timestamp. It expires five minutes after issue. Two things to check before signing, as you should with any wallet signature:
  • The domain shown in the message matches the AGI3 site you are using.
  • The address in the message is the one you intend to bind.
If either does not match, reject it. A signature request that does not name the site you are on is the standard shape of a phishing attempt. If more than five minutes pass, the challenge expires and you will be asked for a fresh signature. This is normal.

Multiple wallets and multiple portfolios

A portfolio can hold more than one wallet, which suits an entity operating several addresses under one mandate. You can also hold several portfolios under one entity. The usual reason is to keep strategies separately measurable, since performance, positions, and health score are all reported per portfolio.

Using the right wallet

Actions on a position must come from a wallet bound to that portfolio. If your wallet is connected but set to a different address than the position’s, the platform will tell you and prompt you to switch rather than letting you submit a transaction that would fail. The same applies to networks: if your wallet is on a different chain than the market you are operating in, you will be prompted to switch first.

Renaming and removing

Renaming a portfolio affects the label only: positions, wallets, and history are untouched. A portfolio holding open positions cannot be removed. Close the positions first. Removing a portfolio does not move assets: your wallet and its contents are yours throughout, and removal only ends AGI3’s tracking of it.
